This lovely, small church, hidden away in a secluded churchyard, dates from the 11th century, although the existing building is later. It is a good example of a post-Reformation 17th century church, being the only one in York to retain its box pews.

Holy Trinity Goodramgate Folklore:

A headless Elizabethan man has been witnessed in the graveyard of this small, secluded church, sometimes in broad daylight. The figure is believed to be Thomas Percy, the 7th Earl of Northumberland and in the 16th century one of the most powerful men century England. A staunch catholic, he led a failed Catholic rebellion against Elizabeth I and was executed; his head was placed on top of Micklegate bar.
